Leeds Apostolic Church

Weekly Service

Sundays at 4:00pm

Welcome to our site.

We're an Evangelical and Pentecostal church on the corner where Kirkstall, Armley, and Bramley meet in the city of Leeds.

We want to tell people all over the city about Jesus, who died for our sins and rose again.

We're a friendly church and you're very welcome to come along to any of our meetings to find out more.

Sundays at 4:00pm

Our services are quite simple. We worship God by singing, praying and listening to the Bible being read and preached. Each Sunday evening we also celebrate the Lord’s Supper.

During Sunday services we usually have Christ-focused, expository preaching, we respond in praise and worship and our meeting culminates in the Breaking of Bread.

We’re an evangelical church, trusting in the authority of the Scripture as the Word of God and wanting the Gospel to be proclaimed, so the proclamation of the Gospel in expository preaching is an important part of our meeting together. We’re a pentecostal church, believing that God still gives gifts of the Holy Spirit to his church today, so we sometimes have the gifts of the Spirit (such as prophecy) in operation in our meetings (within the guidelines laid out in the Bible).

Our Faith & Our Church

Here you can find out what we believe as well as some more about the Apostolic Church in the UK and around the world:
The Apostolic Church
Leeds Apostolic Church is the Leeds assembly of the Apostolic Church, a Pentecostal movement which came out of the Welsh Revival of 1904-05. The Apostolic Church is made up of over 11,000 assemblies around the world with over 15 million members. The Leeds assembly was founded in 1934 and since then has been actively involved in making the gospel known in the city of Leeds.
Our Tenets
The Unity of the Godhead, and Trinity of the Persons therein. The utter depravity of human nature, the necessity for repentance and regeneration and the eternal doom of the finally impenitent. The virgin birth, sinless life, atoning death, triumphant resurrection, ascension, and abiding intercession of our Lord Jesus Christ; His second coming, and millennial reign upon earth. Justification and Sanctification of the believer through the finished work of Christ. The Baptism of the Holy Ghost for believers, with signs following. The nine gifts of the Holy Ghost for the edification, exhortation and comfort of the Church, which is the body of Christ. The Sacraments of Baptism by immersion and of the Lord's Supper. The Divine inspiration and authority of the Holy Scriptures. Church government by apostles, prophets, evangelists, pastors, teachers, elders and deacons. The possibility of falling from grace. The obligatory nature of tithes and offerings.
Overseas Missions
As an Apostolic Church, we’ve always been strong supporters of overseas missions. On the first Sunday of each month we take a special offering to support our missionaries during the main service. Action Overseas is the missionary arm of the Apostolic Church in the UK and our missionary giving goes to support the work of Action Overseas around the world.
